Hmmmm....I would not have noticed the differences and can't really discern that much difference, but I'm not a big sunburst guy.
Funny since the first Collings sunburst that really wowed me is the one on the new-ish 000 limited edition that they are making.
To my eye, that is a stunning sunburst!

I love my D2h from 2015, it plays and sounds great.
Have owned a couple from the late '90s and really love the mature sound from that era; my 0002h is a 1996 model, and have to say it is a glorious sounding instrument.

Like others, the D2h dread would have to stay even though it doesn't get much time these days.
The remaining tough choice would be between a 0002h, and my om1. I think the om1 would get the win however for sentimental reasons, and it just has an incredible voice.

apparently it did sell quick...it was available when I posted. You will find what you want...OM2h's are not rare, just find the right one at the right time. I'm not very good at following my own advice regarding patience... Not sure where you are geographically, but if you can find an OM2h locally to play that would be my best advice. And, that is another bit of advice that I do not always follow...said by the guy that flew to California to buy a guitar...

Collingsoon, I'm not well versed on pickups. There are many others that have worlds more experience that can give advice. That said, my 0002-h came with a K&K pickup installed, and I have a soundhole pickup that I switch between the other guitars when needed. K&K seems to have a good reputat...
