Re: Braces

Never had, or heard of, loose braces on Collings.

Re: TKL case lining question

In my ten years or so of owning multiple Collings--and TKL cases--this has never happened. So, from my experience, this is not at all normal. I'd get in touch with TKL. Not sure what's happening, but maybe someone else here on the forum will have an idea.

Re: No More Collings Cases?

Can't imagine ever selling one of mine. Plenty practical, elegant and, because of his passion for them, what feels like a direct link to Bill Collings.

Re: New Guy!

Congratulations on an exceptional guitar! I've six Collings guitars, and love none more than my CJ35.

Hi Sam,

If someone here doesn't have your answer, do ask Collings the question if you haven't already. I'd try to get an email to Mark Althans. Good Luck.

Re: Strings

Just tried a set of the Martin treated Lifespan 2.0. Couldn't get them off the guitar soon enough. To my taste, they drained the sound from the guitar.

Re: Baked Vs Regular Sitka?

I also think Frank's analysis of the difference is extraordinarily valuable. It is really the first I've read or heard that succinctly describes what I hear. I've had two Collings Dreads, my current D1AT is lightly baked. I've auditioned at length two other D1As, and what stands out for me is the re...

Re: OM1 vs OM1 T Thoughts/Opinions

I prefer the standard Collings OMs and have both an OM1A and an OM2G. They have a slightly more complex, or full, voice that for me supports vocals more completely and convincingly. They are also exceptional finger style guitars: though both how and what one plays determines which guitars work best....

Re: My 2009 OM2HG Custom

Rosewood/German Collings OMs are the very best OMs I've heard and played.

Re: Same body, different woods?

I've a Collings OM2G and OM1A. I agonized over choosing one of the OMs when I bought my first. Eventually I chose the OM2G, and it's a spectacular guitar. But I sort of knew I'd be getting an OM1 eventually; and about four years later I walked into Martin Music in Memphis and played an OM1A. I came ...
