Re: Baked Vs Regular Sitka?

I’m a Collings (and Waterloo) die-hard, but I do fall in the camp that tends to hear more high end zing with the Collings line. For me, traditional builds and a baked top are (generally speaking) the perfect compliment for a Collings.

Re: Buying 1st Collings Assistance

I’ve owned many Collings and Waterloo of every configuration. Mahogany and Rosewood versions. I’ve stuck with a baked D2ht as the one that fits best for me. Fingerpicking, flat picking, strumming, open tunings - it does it all. I like how the Sitka plus the torrefication takes the edge off the stand...

Early Baked D2HT w chunky neck

Long shot, but wondering if anyone has an early D2HT (preferably baked) they are willing to sell. I love my recent one, a golden tone, but I wish the traditional neck carve was as thick as when they started. I believe the traditionals started in 2016 and the necks started trimming down somewhere in ...

Re: Parlor T vs 0 Traditional 12 fret

Derf, thank you for the thoughtful, thorough reply. Very, very helpful. Your point about the used market is well taken and speaks to them as being keepers. I played a Luna parlor, which is a similar size, today. The tone didn't grab me, but the size felt great. I'm thinking an 0 style may start cree...

Parlor T vs 0 Traditional 12 fret

Any 0 T or Parlor T players care to give their 2 cents on these models.....? I played a parlor 2ht once and was blown away, but haven't played any of the other models. I now live far from a Collings dealer and can't play these in hand. It was my first experience with a guitar that small that put out...

Want to follow this thread and have related questions, but didn't want to hijack it, so starting a separate thread regarding 0's and P's.

Collings OM2H-T Baked Sitka w/ K&K

Mint 2018 Collings Traditional Series OM2H-T with a torrefied Sitka top bought in early 2019. With professionally installed k&k pure mini pickup and strap button, it is gig ready, but basically brand new. Bought new a few months ago and never left the house. This is the best rosewood OM I’ve eve...

Re: My D2H

You definitely deserve to get what you were expecting. Collings customer support is incredible, even if you were buying a used guitar. Just one more reason to buy a Collings.
