Collings Marketing, etc.
Seems like all the new or interesting stuff Collings is advertising, for quite a long time now, is heavly tilted toward electrics. The only acoustic-related news was the Hill Country announcement, which seems kind of "moot" given the EXTREMELY limited availabilty. so limited, in fact, that it's ...

Yusuke- Konnichiwa-
if what you're talking about is fretboard "fall-off" from the body fret toward the bridge - some is not unusual, but slight if it does exist. some builders even build in a very small amount, to ensure the the fretboard end doesn't go the other way (up) causing buzzing.

Re: WTB: Collings Traditional 0 sized case
I had one of each. they were IDENTICAL. even though the original statement from Collings was that they were not! I actually fit the appropriate guitar in each - switched. Identical. there were very early numbers on the nameplates.

Re: Realistic this market price for my guitar
i normally don’t play in what Frank Ford called “the nosebleed” section. plus which, i think they are ugly, at least on the martin-based traditional designs. one exception: Schoenberg’s “soloist” OM. and also, LInda Manzer’s “Manzer" is quite nice with her cutaway. superficial, i know, but maybe ...

Re: New model line: Hill Country Series
agree, Frank, with your description of the original collings sound. wish i could have articulated it like that. that is why i prefer it. there is one thing i don't like about the HC presentaion. the headstock missing the collings on the front and the stamp on the back. i can take or leave the "hand ...

Re: New model line: Hill Country Series
good point... in Andy and Adam's TME video, they seem to indicate that. whether there actually was a plan all along to continue to approach martin PREWAR sound, with the T being a stepping stone, i don't know. Andy's playing is always so tasteful; he makes it easier for me to differentiate two ...
