I put some medium strings on my OM1a-jl and found it did not did not sound good. This guitar needs flexible light strings

Absolutely, this is a fine guitar. It has a very unique vintage sound quality that is difficult to replicate without using torrified wood. Plus they can be very loud

Wouldn’t it be nice if Collings could make a Pre-war herringbone D28 with aged Adirondack and Brazilian back and sides with their varnish treatment

I’ve played a few guitars with torrified tops and torrified Adirondack bracing and, yes, I can hear a difference in sound. I am amazed at how nice this guitar sounds and looks. The workmanship is amazing. I shave to thank Mark Stutman and his employees at Folkway Music for having this instrument on consignment.
