Re: Strings
After reading this thread and all the love for Santa Cruz LT strings, I bought a set from stringsbymail for my OM2H. Was excited to try them, but when I got to the last string installed (1st string), the string broke at the ball end when coming up to tune. I trust stringsbymail string set quality, s...

Re: Collings Idiosyncratic sound
Yes I have experienced the exact same thing with my OM2G I bought in April. It's a very, very faint "vibration rattle" that emanates from the bridge area. My only realistic reasoning was maybe one of the string slots that holds the ball end of the string is just barely loose enough that it...

Re: Fret Size on Collings
I'm surprised no one here has responded to this yet. Does no one know what frets Collings uses? I'm new to the Collings family with an OM2G, but long time strat player, and there's a plethora of discussion on strat fret sizes etc. Just curious if no one really knows? I know this forum isn't as popul...

Re: New OM2HG: Fretboard Inlay Question
Thanks JohnB! I agree about the OM2 G. The German top sounds great. I tried OM1s, O1, OM2 Adi top, as well as similar SCGC, Bourgeois, and Martins, and this OM2 G was the best for me.

Re: New OM2HG: Fretboard Inlay Question
Very happy to hear thanks! They are beautiful inlays, and the variation makes it more special. Taking the picture allowed me to view it enlarged which confirms the responses here. Glad to be a part of the Collings family!

Re: New OM2HG: Fretboard Inlay Question
Thanks, that very well could be the answer. I took a picture of it, and when enlarged it does show the inlay shape is the same, but there is dark coloring in the inlay on the right side of picture that to the naked eye looks like the inlay pattern is not fully filled in. Attempting to attach the pic...

New OM2HG: Fretboard Inlay Question
Hi all, I just brought home a new OM2H German Spruce and loving it! I did notice that one of the fretboard abalone inlays looks different than the others. One abalone inlay doesn't completely fill in the "square pattern" shape. There is no missing material and the inlay is flush with fretb...
