Re: Collings Re-fret/Neck Re-set
A few years ago when I needed a re-fret on my D2HG I asked Collings that question. They said use the local guy. Of course my local guy was Frank Ford of Gryphon Strings and was well known to the Collings folks. Edited to add: Of course the fret job came out perfectly.

Re: Off Spec Affect On Value
I think it might. For example, I would not consider purchasing a DS without a slotted headstock. It is a pretty traditional style guitar, so others may feel similarly.

Re: New Member/New Collings: DS1A
There is nothing like a 12 fret slothead Collings dread. I wish I would have pulled the trigger on one I played a few years ago.

Re: Collings Made Case Information *UPDATE*
In our tour of the Collings factory last week (thanks Steve!), I heard the same thing about the cases. That is, they will be sold independently of guitars. They looked nice - I really liked the latches. They are a lot smaller than the normal cases, which would be handy for car trips. Steve also made...

Re: Dreadnought for fingerpicking blues
I love to play fingerstyle blues on my D2HG. I think it is a very versatile guitar. I do have strong fingernails and play hybrid style with a pick and fingers. I have a 00 12-fret slothead that would seem to be better suited to fingerstyle, but greatly prefer my D2HG.

Re: FORUM INTRODUCTIONS
AllThumbsBruce here. A Collings (D2HG) player since 2009. I'm a materials science professor with a physics background. I have been playing guitar a lot longer than you would guess by listening to me play. I still remember the warm welcome I received from Elambo and Kerry when I joined the old forum ...
