Each and every guitar is different... There are so many contributing factors, it is tough to say.... However, seeing that Collings is one of the more consistent manufacturers, it is possible that set up and string choice could easily rectify the situation. I'd be interested in the 35 if it has a sunburst.... I recently purchased a Gibson custom shop 1934 Jumbo... its killer but the neck is just too big for me... I always thought the 35 was pretty full, I've not played a 45.... Interesting that the 45 would be bigger....

Collings used to grade Brazilian as " b a aa aaa" those were the four tier levels... This grading system was based on the rosewood they had in stock at the time of the build...With that said, it would not be uncommon to find b grade from one year that was nicer than aa from another year.....

Always good to have an extra saddle. My guess is that returning to a taller saddle will probably remedy the issue, but as the summer months come the humidity may cause the top to swell and youll want to go back to the lower saddle…

Hmm... I'm not sure if adjusting the truss rod is the correct answer here... I prefer a straight neck and taller saddle. If you already had slight relief in the neck, I don't think adding more is the answer... unless you mean it had a back bow... different story... I wonder if the guitar may have dr...
