Re: Welcome to my new OM1A-jl
I typically play bluegrass which is why I prefer the dreads. However my shoulder can hurt after a while and the smaller body really helps. I have been playing pretty much everything I play on the larger guitars and at home it does everything I want really well. It really shines on fiddle tunes but a...

Welcome to my new OM1A-jl
I am an admitted Dreadnaught fan- I am spoiled with a fantastic room full of fine specimens. A few years ago I went looking for an OM sized guitar due to some shoulder issues and long story short I researched the new JL model intensely but ended up elsewhere. Recently I did pull the trigger on a new...

I recently just purchased a OM1A JL and it came with one of the newer TKLs, and I can say they are much nicer than previous Collings cas...

Re: Strings
I have used the regular MA550's (non-coated) on my D1ATS. I really like them and they can be had for less than $5 a set if you locate remaining stock of the 3 packs (2+1 free). I think I actually prefer them to my standard j17's. I definitely prefer them on my Martins

Re: Why are so many baked and traditional guitars up for sale?
I think that the Traditionals have generated a lot of buzz over the last several years, and therefore its makes sense that more have sold and more are being traded out. There are a lot of nice guitars being made right now and I think people are "rolling" guitars actively during the lockdow...

Re: Collings Case Vs. Calton
I have both cases. I love my Collings hand built cases, but they are not imo made for the rigor of travel. I think they would fend off humidity and temp changes about the same as any laminated wood-shell case. In comparison, the Calton is significantly better at protecting from heat and humidity cha...
