Re: What is the sound/tone difference of the Collings 01's
Along these lines, anyone have any experience with the 01 compared to the 01T? I haven't had any 01Ts around here for me to try so I'm wanting to know some feedback for now until I try one out soon.

Thomastik Infeld Plectrum
Anybody have experience with these on their Collings? Thinking of putting a medium set (13-61) on my Collings 01 tuned down to D standard.

Re: OM and the 1 11/16 nut width?
I've been wondering how a mod V neck with 1 11/16 feels compared to my 01 that has a mod V neck with a 1 3/4 nut width. Wanting to get a OM1 short scale but seems like I can only get a hold of one with 1 11/16 so I'm on the fence.

Re: 02h
I’ve owned an O2h which was a great sounding guitar and the neck profile was spot on. I’ve played both side by side and the 02h definitely has more clarity with a bit more sparkle and high end with balanced bass response. It did have a few wolf notes when playing a Bflat note on the low E string whi...

Medium Gauge Strings
I know the Collings recommends only light gauge strings for smaller bodied guitars, but would it be harmful to use medium gauge (13-56) strings on my 01 or C10 when tuned a half step down to Eb standard or a full step down to D standard tuning. Thanks in advance!

Re: Collings 01
I've got a 000-1A that has the same crack. It was a humidity thing. I went out of town for work and we had a deep cold snap; the heater dried out the air so much that the crack developed virtually overnight. I had it repaired with cleats by John Allison in Austin. The crack occurred 8-10 years ago,...

Re: Collings 01
Thanks for all the feedback. I actually took it to another luthier in which he found that the crack did not go through the top and is just a surface/finish crack. He's recommending only a touch up on the finish which gives me a whole lot more confidence about this guitar. Im thinking its a keeper bu...

Re: Collings 01
How long after you got the guitar did the crack appear? Was it there as soon as you took the guitar out. In my opinion, if the crack was not mentioned by the seller, I would return it. Or as suggested, I would ask the seller to pay for the repair! Good luck I bought it used off of guitarcenter.com ...

Collings 01
Just received a used 2017 Collings 01 that has blown me away as far as tone, playability and overall comfort. Only issue is that there’s a center seam separation/hairline crack from the bridge to the binding. There’s also some slight separating in the center seam between the sound hole and bridge wi...
