Re: Lacquer Adhesion issues?
I'm currently dealing with this on a 2018 D-2H-AT. I purchased the guitar mid-2022, with the purchase carrying quite the price tag. Basically, the issue I'm seeing is that the lacquer is bubbling off on the fret ends along the sides of the neck. The occurrence is somewhat related to the instrument d...

Re: Strings
Tonequester, although i don't use the SC strings, I've tried a number of approaches. The first thing is that you might get away with medium strings if you lower the action. If you try both light strings and lower action you may get buzzing, particularly if you play with a heavy attack. My go-to str...

Re: Strings
Santa Cruz low tension parabolic strings. Far and away the best strings I have ever used. Have them on all my guitars now. I second this...Santa Cruz low tension parabolic strings have been my go to for 3years now. No complaints what so ever and I'm constantly getting compliments on how great my gu...

Re: Elliot Capo
I have yet to venture to Elliott Capos due to the cost. As an affordable alternative, I have bought some Paige Clik capos, removed the rubber grommet piece that makes contact with the back of the neck, and replaced that with a piece of leather. I've done this with great success and couldn't be happi...

Re: 02h
Look into Martin binding issues before making your decision. Sure, a lifetime warranty is great and all, but when the binding starts falling off your $5,000+ guitar after owning it for just two-years, you'll wish you had picked the Collings.

Re: Collings Idiosyncratic sound
So my issue went away with the smaller gauge strings. Regardless, I'm still not satisfied with the results. Here's the thing: when I received the guitar, the previous owner had it strung with Santa Cruz Parabolic Medium tension strings and I noticed the buzz and thought that the guitar, being a 00 m...

Re: Collings Idiosyncratic sound
00-2H here... I am also attempting to figure out this buzz, though mine seems to be limited to the low E (6th). I'm working on the setup currently and am going to try a custom light string, dropping from 12-53 to 11-52. I'll follow-up in a couple days regarding whether the smaller gauge helps. I hav...

Re: Label Removal
And to note: I did not ask for input from others who didn't share some experience on the topic as presented. My goal, due to my finding no information on the topic, was to create a space where the experience could be logged for future inquiry by others seeking to undertake the removal of the label.

Re: Label Removal
I wish these comments would remain constructive. I'm not the first to remove a label from a guitar and I'm surely not going to be the last. My objective was to share my experience, not be subjected to ridicule and bullying. Those adding constructive statements...thank you; those being dicks...congra...
