Re: Lacquer Adhesion issues?

It will actually be more around 90 days, but yeah, a single day is too long :)

Re: Lacquer Adhesion issues?

Hands down, it is the best guitar I've ever played. I absolutely love every thing about it and I consider myself extremely picky. The attention to detail placed in the construction of the instrument is commendable. Been through a lot of Martins before I sold them off and moved to Collings. I guess i...

Re: Lacquer Adhesion issues?

A little update on this: I noticed an additional spot on the back of the neck. Upon a more thorough inspection, I've discovered more locations on the top edge of the headstock. This has me wondering if the issue is somehow worse when it comes to the lacquer's ability to adhere to ebony. I'm totally ...

Re: Lacquer Adhesion issues?

I'm currently dealing with this on a 2018 D-2H-AT. I purchased the guitar mid-2022, with the purchase carrying quite the price tag. Basically, the issue I'm seeing is that the lacquer is bubbling off on the fret ends along the sides of the fingerboard and one location on the backside of the neck. Th...

Re: Strings

Tonequester, although i don't use the SC strings, I've tried a number of approaches. The first thing is that you might get away with medium strings if you lower the action. If you try both light strings and lower action you may get buzzing, particularly if you play with a heavy attack. My go-to str...

Re: Strings

Santa Cruz low tension parabolic strings. Far and away the best strings I have ever used. Have them on all my guitars now. I second this...Santa Cruz low tension parabolic strings have been my go to for 3years now. No complaints what so ever and I'm constantly getting compliments on how great my gu...

Re: Elliot Capo

I have yet to venture to Elliott Capos due to the cost. As an affordable alternative, I have bought some Paige Clik capos, removed the rubber grommet piece that makes contact with the back of the neck, and replaced that with a piece of leather. I've done this with great success and couldn't be happi...

Re: 02h

Look into Martin binding issues before making your decision. Sure, a lifetime warranty is great and all, but when the binding starts falling off your $5,000+ guitar after owning it for just two-years, you'll wish you had picked the Collings.

Re: Collings Idiosyncratic sound

So my issue went away with the smaller gauge strings. Regardless, I'm still not satisfied with the results. Here's the thing: when I received the guitar, the previous owner had it strung with Santa Cruz Parabolic Medium tension strings and I noticed the buzz and thought that the guitar, being a 00 m...
