Re: The Missing Traditionals

Reading some of the posts here re traditionals reminds me that I have been awaiting a huge attack of GAS at the launch of the 0002hT (my favourite model). To date though I’m still waiting. Over the 10+ years I’ve been a Collings fan a lot of models have had a redesigned option - C10 to C35, CJ to C...

Re: Collings AT16

Shocking the heck out of me, based on my recent experience selling, you may need more than $15k in your piggy bank.
Whatever you can spend, recommend you have it in a form you can liquidate and commit in hours.
Good luck. Mine were both! dreams, I just no longer played and someone else should.

Re: WTB D2HA or D2HT

Why not a D2HA T? And then go for all the marbles--latest neck design and satin finish are said to make objective improvements in emulating vintage tone (but glue doesn't matter, so reversion to Titebond is immaterial). If these features interest you, look for a 2020 or later, satin. But no Collings...

Re: Compound radiused fretboard

I have a D1ATS--compound radius 14"-26". Capos come with fixed radius curvature. Would a 16" still work on the lower frets? (This is the standard radius of Elliot, for example.) I have a Paige New & Improved P6N (nickel, $21 from Sweetwater) arriving soon and I'll report back. No ...

Re: Collings Gathering Virtual Event

Thank you, very sad. He was the light of any guitar circle, in my opinion.
RIP, NJ minstrel!

Re: Collings Gathering Virtual Event

No words (poetry, actually) from Norm? I see he is a member since 2018 , but has 0 posts, hope he is OK. I'm getting back to acoustic guitar after a saxophone interlude and rejoining this CFv2... sad all the archives from the original seem lost, but I do see lots of familiar names so I'm glad someth...

Re: Collings Made Case Information *UPDATE*

Update after 20 months and COVID: Andy at TME told me Collings will continue to make their traditional cases as they have available humanpower, which is NOT now. So perhaps in a year some new ones may become available? I guess the good news is that it is not uncommon for not-so-old used D1ATs to com...

SOLD 2006 Collings AT-16 Maple/Italian Acoustic Archtop, Ameritage Deluxe Humidistat, Exc.

2-up.jpg This may be the last AT-16 crafted entirely by Bill Collings according to Aaron Huff who joined the company several months later. Aaron recently refreshed the top, replaced the nut and performed an uber set-up, after which several shop guys played it and grinned widely. The last of a group...
