Re: A new OM for my wife
Hello Bruce, First, just a slight correction to leal's post. The Traditionals come with fully adjustable truss rods. I have a D1A Traditional and have auditioned many Ts over the years, finding that I sometimes prefer them to the standard Collings, sometimes prefer the standard. I have a nine year o...

Re: Collings Acoustics and Old Strings
Bob--was about to write to ask if you're ever curious that the great sound of the older guitars is the age of the guitars, and, maybe, they might sound even better with new strings? But your last post seems to suggest you might be mulling something like that over. And, good luck remembering how to c...

The price is certainly reasonable--and Collings OM2s are just splendid guitars!

Re: The T series - Please explain to me
Great recordings: the songs, the playing, the singing. Sensational sounding guitar. And your first song makes me believe even more that there is no guitar that sounds as magical capoed down the neck as a Collings OM--standard or traditional.

Re: D1A Special
Considering the time and care taken by Bill and others to develop the Traditional, the seller's claim seems unbelievable. This may be a fine guitar, but I'm betting the "special" is pretty much a creation of the seller. The seller should be able to tell you exactly what it is that makes th...

Re: The T series - Please explain to me
Andy, The T series is, as noted above, significantly different; and is more time consuming and so more expensive for Collings to make. But I don't think it will always sound better to everyone, even experienced players. When I was searching for a dread a few years ago, I called Mark Althans to talk ...

Re: Traditional Series Neck Size Change
One observation I have made is that there are increasingly more Collings acoustic models emerging with ebony that has lighter streaks on the fingerboards and rosewood head stocks with a lot of contrasting (light/dark) streaks. IMO these elements are a little less attractive visually; though, I am s...

Re: OM3SS
Yes. The SS is for short scale. I have an OM2G short scale. With Collings OMs, the sound differences between standard and short scale guitars is subtle. I like both, because, even though they feel different, when I switch between a standard and short scale, as a player, I struggle to hear difference...

Re: Knocked out - my new Collings SJ Indian
Congratulations, Daniel. I love the SJs. I have a maple one I ordered coming at the end of the month--and it's been a long, long wait. My first projected build date has been pushed back at least twice, and now I should see it in a couple of weeks. Your post is a reminder that it's worth the wait.
