Re: Price increase question

The shop I worked in always raised prices on our in stock instruments when the companies implemented a price increase. A 2015 OM1A, that is still clean with no shop wear, is no different than the 2019 OM1A hanging next to it. There is no "sell by" date on a guitar. It all comes down to whi...

Re: Strings on your D (1-3)

My D1T arrived with D'Addario J17's. I have a set of what has become my "go to" strings, Martin Monel Retro mediums on it right now. I like them just fine, but I plan to try a set of DR Rare 13-56 and a set of SCGC Mid Tension on future string changes.

Re: New Collings C100

That's a beautiful guitar. I like the back wood. And it's a long scale with medium gauge strings; I am sure that small body puts out some sound. Congratulations.

Re: Collings Playability

I have played a lot of Collings guitars and never felt the playability was anything less than easy. The new Traditional neck is about the perfect profile for me. I like the Vintage Now and ModV necks too.

Re: Torrified Guitar Tops

I just bought a new D1T with a baked Sitka top. Other than a 1934-38 D18, it is the guitar I have dreamed about owning for over 20 years. I have had a D1A and several iterations of D18s over the years, but this Traditional with the baked top sounds unusually beautiful. I know the tone is a combinati...

Though I don't have one, I think a Collings version of a Smeck would be pretty cool.

I'd like to see a 12 fret version of the JK.
