Re: Finally got my hands on a Satin finish D1!!
It's nice that you ended up with a great new guitar, Mark. Does this mean the D1AT is going to be filing for unemployment soon?

Re: D1 dimensions compared to Martin?
I have two friends with Martins and Collings who carry both in Calton cases, with no fit issues.

Re: D1 dimensions compared to Martin?
I kept my Martin D Mahogany 09 in a Collings TKL for years. My D1T has traveled in a Hiscox case, and I know a Martin D18 fits in my Collings Vintage case. A Martin case should be a proper fit with with no issues. You probably saw the Collings TKL case for sale in the classifieds.

Re: Any D1 T or D1A T owners?
Mark, I'll be very curious to find out what you hear when you A/B the D1AT and your new D1T S. I am dreaming about a D2HA T S, but sadly, it's not going to happen soon.

Re: The T series - Please explain to me
I don't see any bashing in this thread and hope I didn't come off as disparaging anyone's opinion or choice of guitars. I have one Tradtional and two standard series Collings as well as four other brands in the house. All guitars have their strengths and weaknesses depending on who is playing and or...

Re: The T series - Please explain to me
I don't hear "muddier" in the Traditional dreadnoughts I have played. I hear warmer and rounder. I tend to save the adjective "muddy" for a lot of the Martins I have played and owned. And I'd agree on the D2HA; I have never met one I didn't like.

Re: F/S Collings CJ-35, sunburst, baked Sitka top
I am the proud new owner of this CJ35. It is fantastic. It has that punchy, crunchy Gibson midrange with the Collings playability and perfection. And, as always, Kim Sherman and her crew delivered the ultimate in customer service.

My brother-in-law has a koa/German SJ that is an amazing guitar. I hope you enjoy yours as much as he enjoys his SJ.
