Social Media or Here?

We have all seen the rise of social media. It has been a ride. Is it old school, new school, or no difference? Most or all of your know that there is a Facebook page dedicated to Collings with thousands of followers around the world. It has grown fast and steadily and continues to grow. This is a gr...

Re: Torrified Guitar Tops

As previously stated in this thread many factors affect the way a guitar sounds. A torrified topped guitar will have its own characteristic response and sound when coupled to the other elements of the guitar. A general statement would be that all torrefied guitars have a particular tone, attack, rel...

Re: All my Collings guitars are acting up!

I thought about this for a couple of days. Unless you are in a drop tuning from where your Collings were set up, or you did saddle or nut work, or you are using lower tension strings after setup, there is not a good explanation for what you are experiencing. There is not substitute for a guitar guit...

Re: Any other 12 fret freaks out there?

I wonder whether any of y'all have played one of those 0000-sized Martin 12-fretters. Gruhn's has a bunch of them made out of sinker mahogany that are pleasing to the eye, complete with a lovely slot-head. (I know it's not a Collings, but I love a Martin too.) Here's one: https://guitars.com/invent...

Re: Collings OM1ajl

My first choice in necks is usually 1 3/4" but I tend to play more narrow (and wider classical) neck guitars too. So I purchased the OM1AJL with the narrower neck and I like it. I like it a lot. It is quick, easy to fret, and you can move up and down the fretboard with just about anything you w...

Re: Mandolin roll call -- who's got 'em and whatcha got?

Fortunately, mandolins stick here. I have only owned two and I still have both of them. One is an MT2V and the other is the Ivory/Burgundy MT2O https://www.collingsguitars.com/custom- ... cream-top/. Very different Mandolins but very enjoyable.

Really a nice guitar! I even like how the color tone of the tuners match the top and are accented by the black MOP. Congrats!
