Treble Bleed on my 290?
Does anyone know if Collings electric guitars come from the factory with a treble bleed circuit? I use the volume knob quite a bit and feel like I lose some treble when I back off. IF there isn't a bleed circuit installed, is it easy to install one? I'm okay with a soldering iron if it's a semi-quic...

Re: Collings D2HA Varnish High E String "Falling" Off The Edge Of The Fretboard
I've played a number of Collings acoustics - and owned more than a few - and have never yet experienced the issue you're experiencing. But, all my guitars have needed a setup of some sort over time, and it sure sounds like your guitar needs one as well. Just because it is "new" and unplaye...

Re: Dreadnought for fingerpicking blues
Do you think a varnished dreadnought with Adirondack top would do well as a fingerpicking guitar? Heck yes! Mine sure does. Caveat, my D1A Varnish is strung with mediums - I use a flatpick about as much as I use fingers - and I use finger picks. Bare fingers and medium strings don't work for me, no...

Re: Varnish finished Dreadnought
I recently played a varnish that I thought was one of the best Collings I've ever touched. I'm still thinking about buying it over a traditional model. I can't understand why you're "thinking about buying." "Best Collings ever touched." C'mon, do it already, bests don't come alo...

Re: Varnish finished Dreadnought
Certainly not all varnish guitars are "better" than their non-varnish counterparts, BUT my own personal experience is quite positive. I compared a Standard (used, well played) D1A with a similar (used, well played) D1A Varnish. In this case the Varnish was noticeably better: louder, bigger...

Re: Collings Baby, 01, or 02H as a Travel Guitar?
I've never owned or played a Baby, but I have owned an 01A. (Man I regret selling that guitar!) I did a lot of traveling with that guitar, including a couple flights to Germany. I had mine in a somewhat cheap gig bag, tossed it in the overhead compartments of all kinds of airplanes, never, ever had ...

Re: What CAPO?!?
I posted earlier on this thread that I'd briefly owned the Heritage, as well as being a long time user of various Elliott capos. I was very excited about the promise of the Heritage - the ability to adapt to various radii - and anxious to try it out. The Heritage was nice, great piece of work, but I...

Re: Your preferred guitar stands
I've been using Hercules for years, more than 10 I think, never - ever - had a problem. My guitars live full time on the stands, not a hint of a reaction to the nitro finishes. No dogs or kids in my house, but I've bumped them a few times without any trouble. Great product, highly recommended.

Re: What CAPO?!?
It's been a while since I owned a Heritage, but at the time I did I much preferred the Elliott. I've owned Elliots since about forever, huge fan. What intrigued me about the Heritage was the idea that it would accommodate a variety of radii, or at least that's what I seem to remember. In any event, ...
