I guess this satisfies the question asked. I bought these Collings OM2 guitars new in 2013. Adi/Higuerilla OM2 on left - Mahogany/Mahogany OM2 on right.

I agree. I’ve owned many Collings and none have had hide or animal protein glue, and they have all been spectacular. I take whatever the builder feels most comfortable with. I own 11 guitars and only 2 have hide glue.

They didn’t. I didn’t ask if buyers can still custom order with protein glue, but I’m guessing it might be possible.

Looking back at Gryphon’s web site and considering the highlighted claim, this seems like it is either a major departure by Collings, or misstatement of apparent significance on the web page. It would be nice to know more.

My oldest Collings isn’t very old. I purchased this all mahogany OM2 new 7 years ago. It’s fantastic. A great mix of Collings clarity with added depth & warmth.
