Re: Collings CJ mahogany

hello to all, It’s now 6 months that I play and replays this famous CJ Mh SB 2003. This guitar amazes me by its depth, its note duration, its timbre and its projection which has nothing to envy to my D2h and D1. The notes stand out more clearly, with more nuances for me, which allows to play on the ...

Re: No More Collings Cases?

Thanks for the info about your experience with the Hiscox cases. Thanks also for the great picture!! I have two Hiscox cases including the "artist" model which is hardly produced. I have not yet traveled by plane with these cases but they are still very suitable for car or train travel. R...

Re: In praise of a well set up guitar.

there's an old truth about putting a frog in boiling water. If a frog is thrown into boiling water he's out quick, but put him in room temp water and gradually warm it up and you've got a boiled frog. I like that analogy for guitars. When they are new, more than likely we like the way it plays, day...

Re: rockbridge guitars

Hello,
I had done a workshop with Jim Hurst a few years ago in France. Jim was playing on a beautiful mahogany Rockbridge. From his website I think he is still in love with this little factory.

numéros de séries

Hello,
We know the tracking of series numbers of guitars published on the site Collings.
Do you know if there is detail per year depending on the types of guitars released from the factory? style D, CW, CJ etc.
If you could enlighten me.
Thanks to you.

Re: Collings CJ mahogany

Re: Collings CJ mahogany

Hello, Other points that I noted: - The accuracy is better than on my D with open strings or 12th fret harmonics, the note is always right. - I remember a debate on the fact that the brand lightened its original models, This one of 2003 is much lighter than my D1 of 2002. - last point I would like t...

Re: Collings CJ mahogany

Good morning all, So let's take a look back at this 2003 CJ Mh SB that I just received: Cosmetics: beautiful violin as it is to do well Bill and his team with an always sublime Honduran mahogany body, a tight and fine mesh sitka table, a well-appointed head with ebony plating, a curvature of the nec...

Re: Collings CJ mahogany

Hello Dave,
I should receive the guitar tomorrow Saturday or next Monday.
My two guitars remained in Paris but I could do a debreef from Normandy where I am now.
