Re: NAMM 2020

I'm guessing there will be something, but hard to say. I still dream of a "Critter" D1AT in the Julian finish, but Collings has already said "No" to me many times. Mark told me maybe in the future, but not right now, about a year ago. I guess the future is now! I want to immedia...

Re: Where do you find good, used Collings guitars?

There are three on my local CL: CW, UTK-1, and an I-35. There are always a handful of used Collings instruments listed on the Mandolin Cafe classifieds.

Re: What CAPO?!?

Contact Melisa at Elliot, and she can make the recommendation for the specifications. I know she is going to suggest a 17" radius for a Collings. I just received an Elliot Elite in wide for my DS1 with a 1 13/16" neck, and it's perfect. I am going to order another Elite in 1 3/4" for ...

Re: Any D1 T or D1A T owners?

I have a D1T. I bought it, new, last may. Mine has a baked Sitka top. I searched for several months for a great mahogany dread before I found it. I also played one with red spruce and one with a regular Sitka top. Mine has an airy, dry tone...sort of buttery. It's one of the best two guitars I have ...

Re: Why Does Collings Ship Guitars and Cases Separately?

I like the standard issue TKL "Geib" styles cases, but the vintage style cases are beyond compare. There is nothing else like them. I have one for my D1T and wish they made one that fit my DS1.

Re: Why Does Collings Ship Guitars and Cases Separately?

I bought a D1T 7 months ago, and it came with a case. My DS1 came with a case. When I worked for a Collings dealer, 15-20 years ago, all the Collings instruments came with cases. Unless this is a new policy, something smells fishy. I think you should call Collings today.
