Re: Am I Being Too Picky?

By come apart, I am talking only about the leather wrap that comes under and tucks back over the handle's loop. It's glued and stapled but in these two examples they were both attempts at gluing and stapling. SAME thing exactly with a brand-new TKL supplied to Bourgeois. they seem to have fixed the...

As long as they are Collings, they are winners!

Re: Why are so many baked and traditional guitars up for sale?

I think that the Traditionals have generated a lot of buzz over the last several years, and therefore its makes sense that more have sold and more are being traded out.
for me, that's the answer to the original question:) then there are the cases. oh, the cases. so sweet.

Re: Why are so many baked and traditional guitars up for sale?

just reread my post. did a disservice to the T. i should have said "prefer" not "much prefer." and if i could keep myraid guitars, i
would have kept them, they are indeed wonderful and worthy of Collings. sorry folks at the forum and Collings! i will bench myself.

Re: Why are so many baked and traditional guitars up for sale?

i've had a parlor2h, D2h, om2h and D1 traditional; the 2h's all adirondack-madagascar. all traditionals gone, and they didn't last long, really. when it comes to collings, i much prefer the "standard" Collings line. the T's all wonderful examples, just ended up gone.

Re: 41 vs. 42 Style Top Border

although the 41 is pretty, if one has to have an abalam-bordered top, then i think the 42 ties together better. here is 12-string 41 i used to have (not for long:)).

Re: 0002H T limited run?

Re: 14 Fret 0 Size

i am a longtime D person, but over the years i've started to enjoy a small body. and the 0- is not too small. i love the short scale of the 12-fret and 14-fret versions. couple that with the 1-11/16 neck on the 14-fret, i can play some pieces that my small hands could not handle on a longer scale or...

Re: WTB Collings Traditional Handmade Case for 14-fret 0

if the serial number format on the nameplate doesn't bother you, the 12-fret case is identical, even though the collings site implies the 14- and 12-fret traditional cases are different. i think that was probably their original intention. i have one of each for the appropriate instruments and find t...
