Re: Has anyone played a 12-fret 0 Traditional?
Since I wrote the original post, I now have a 12-fret 01EMC (Engelmann over Mountain cedar), and I still have the 12-fret 02H (Sitka over EIR). Love ‘em both. I recently got to try a 12-fret 02H Traditional (Sitka top, not baked), and was able to compare it to a 14-fret 02H (Sitka top, not a traditi...

Re: Price increase question
I know of one Collings guitar still being offered online as NOS with a good discount minus the warranty.

Re: Price increase question
A few months before the price increase, I bought an 01 that had sat at the dealer’s for almost five years. I got a very good price on it, but it was sold as new old stock, minus the warranty (it was in perfect condition, no shop wear). Since it’s a Collings, I’m not too concerned about not having th...

Price increase question
When Collings recently raised their prices, dealers also raised prices for new guitars they already had in stock. It looks to me that all the dealers whose websites I check did this. Is this up to the dealers, or does Collings require dealers to do this?

Re: Collings Playability
The person who resurrected the thread on the AGF (Post #25 in that thread) said he’s had the guitar for almost a year, and he’s had it set up three times since he’s had it (he doesn’t say whether the same tech did all three). He’s changed string gauges from 12s, to 11s, to 10s. He said it’s playable...

Re: Collings Playability
That’s a silly zombie thread on the AGF that was resurrected the other day. I think it’s from 2008. It’s totally ridiculous.

Waterloo aged finish
I took a good look at the photo examples of the new aged finish Waterloos. I’ve never been a fan of manufactured aged/antique finishes, but the concept seems here to stay, at least for the foreseeable future. The only examples I’ve seen (I’ve only seen photos) of this idea that I thought looked some...

Re: 00- 12 fret - Collings red-headed stepchild?
Godfrey, you've asked just the right question....what gives anyways? Of all the guitars I've owned or played (& that's a few), my favourite is a beat-up wideneck 14 fret '39 00-18. I really don't know the answer. 00 offer a lot of musical punch for a small body size. It really is the great myst...
