Re: In Case You Missed It

PTO, thank you. I have resisted commenting on the contribution portions as sometimes people thought some of the things presented were controversial. As we see with social media now, it seems that EVERYTHING is controversial. These days, in many circles, I do not even mention much of my work. It seem...

Re: In Case You Missed It

Red Oak, Glad you made it through your health episode. It seems many of us here are at that age that rather serious things can start to go haywire. I wish everybody good health. Enjoy it while you have it because for all of us, one day it will be gone. Let that music ring! PTO, Thank you too for the...

Re: In Case You Missed It

Thanks Mark. Thanks Eric. Maybe some of the lack of activity on the forum was my letting the forum initialize and propagate itself rather than treating it like a new site. My snow cone thread was a bit of a tongue in cheek attempt to just getting some interaction going. At least some of you got humo...

Re: Temperature change

Ten degrees should not be any problem for wood. At least not unless the temperatures are less than 50F or greater than 80F. Ten percent change in humidity or even more for a few hours is again probably not a factor if in the sweet spot range between 40% RH and 60%.

Re: Virtuoso Cleaner and Polish on Collings i35lc Vintage

I am not a fan of polishes in general. A polish typically has fine abrasives (the white residue) in it to remove impurities and imperfections from a surface. If you have an old, non clear coated car a polish is a great help. For a fine guitar, I think it is not necessary. There are plenty of cleaner...

Re: I don't like snow cones.

I avoided the strawberry too! Maybe subconsciously we were avoiding the Red Dye #2 before we even knew it has bad health consequences.

When it was snack time, there were too many other better options than frozen shaved ice with some colored sugar on it.

I don't like snow cones.

I figured I would kick this forum off with a post that some will agree with but most won't. Change snow cones to another subject and let's see what shakes out. That is the spirt of those section. Just keep it civil please.

Re: Relief or no relief? What do you think?

You will probably get the purists saying that it has to be to the tenth of millimeter to be "correct" and you will get others that say to just play it. In the end I think both are correct. Each instrument is a little different hence the strings will behave a little differently. I have not ...

Re: Elliot Capo

It is not my intent to create controversy over these. All of these are good capos. It is a little difficult to see from the photo but there are two features that I like on the G7th. The biggest is the leatherette padding that lines nearly the entirety of the inside of the capo. This keeps metal from...
