i'm new to the james tailpiece. what an improvement from a practical standpoint for me. not near as incredble looking as the engraved collings, but so much easier to restring:)

i've bought 3 used varnish guitars in the last couple years and i love them. had a new one and sold it early on... not knowing how special it would become tonally and patina-wise after only a couple of years. i learned my lesson. good work!

although i'm curious about the out of stock spanish moss, i do like the colors of the brown with the label. that's the one i ordered too.

well i finally broke down and got one. nice except that it's as big and heavy as a horses leg! guess i'll use it to hold pencils:)

for me, i wouldn't want any modifications to have been done if buying on the used market. as for protecting the bridge plate, i think i help a little, at least, by bending the ball itself so that it is under the "ledge" of the plate instead of being held in the hole by being "squeezed...
