Sitaring Issue with my D-1
In 1999 I bought a new Collings D-1 and I've loved every minute of playing it. However... For some reason it's developed a "sitar" sound on the Second ("B") string. I have used D'Addario PB strings in Light gauge since the day it was new and I love the sound they produce. I've tr...

Re: The T series - Please explain to me
I've had the opportunity to play a number of dread T's. They ARE different sounding than my '99 D-1 and 2014 D2HA.
For MY ears, the T's sound a little muddier. You can't beat a D2HA.
YMMV

My ‘99 D-1 goes to the grave with me. 21 years of sonic bliss!

Re: Any D1 T or D1A T owners?
I love the D-1T and D-1A T.
While I own neither, I have had to chance to play them at Gryphon on numerous occasions.
In my current stash is a '99 Collings D-1 I bought new at Gryphon. As much as I like all things Collings, this one is my favorite I've ever played.

Re: What polish/wax do y’all use?
Dry cloth is usually enough, but if more is needed I only use a soft, damp cloth followed by a soft dry cloth.
Bill was right about polishes. Why clog up the pores of your guitar with polish?

Re: Where do you find good, used Collings guitars?
I just sold my 2013 D2H in three days on our local CL for $3500. For sure I live in an area of well-heeled guitar players (Silicon Valley) and I never have a problem selling any gear on my local CL. This is important because I will not ship a guitar and I deal in cash only. Keep an eye on your local...

Re: Collings Made Case Information *UPDATE*
I love everything about gear manufactured by Collings. In fact, I've never played a Collings instrument I didn't LOVE! I think the cases in question are quite cool, but IMO nothing beats the value of a HISCOX Pro II case. For under $300 you get exceptional strength, very light weight, and "D&qu...

Gryphon has a beautiful 1999 that meets your needs. 1 11/16” nut.

Re: Pickup Install on a D2H
I consider it a plus if I find an acoustic that already has a K&K installed. Saves me the cost of putting one in! All seven of my acoustics (including my '99 D-1, '13 D2H, and '14 D2HA) have K&K's. The pups were all installed by the pros at Gryphon. I prefer the added strength and simplicity...
