SOLD: Collings OM1A-JL

Hello,

I'm putting up my Julian Lage signature OM with the Collings handmade case and upgraded top. This one has the standard 1 11/16" nut width. It's in great condition with low mileage. A strap button was installed. SOLD!

Re: WL-12 Mahogony - Is action higher on 12 fret?

How about this. Keep the original saddle but make a second once to accommodate a lower action. The saddle is not glued down. The nut slots might need attention as well but are of course not drop in.

Re: WL-12 Mahogony - Is action higher on 12 fret?

Do you have someone nearby who could do a proper setup on the guitar? Collings guitars come with medium low action and can go down a bit if you prefer the lowest action.

Re: Collings Playability

JohnB, that's great to hear. Did your tech share with you what may have caused the problem? I always adjust my nut and saddle as low as possible and have my necks fairly straight. I don't have that guitar anymore as I have gone mahogany full-time (vacation and sick days included).

Re: Collings Playability

Of the small sample of Collings I've owned one was stiffer, feel-wise, than others. It was an OM2HT and was stiff even with 12s. All others play like butter. Buck, you have way more experience with guitars than I do but one of the easiest playing guitars I had was Pre-War Guitars Co. which had a sup...

Re: Traditional Series Neck Size Change

Not sure when the switch happened but I had a few which had very large necks. I am selling a 2017 which has a slimmer neck.

Re: Waterloo finish - what do you call it?

Lowdens used to have a similar satin finish, after 25 years playing & polishing mine has turned gloss pretty much all over, Would love to see a Waterloo in a few years time. I love that look too. Like an old leathery Gibson The Waterloos don't take long at all to shine up. I would call the orig...

I noticed Gryphon's and Norman's Rare guitars have vintage CJs. Very tempting

Re: Is Collings changing after Bill?

I was really hoping these cases would inspire other manufacturers to come out with better cases as well. Long shot but I did dream that. Taking these away just shuts that door even though it makes sense for their business.

Re: Collings 6/1

That is a shocking. I thought there was an increase recently maybe this is the official date. I hope the --AT's are not approaching 7K already especially without a soon to be vintage vintage case. Is there any news about new models? How do you like your D1AT? I feel like my latest sounds the best of...
