Re: Strings
Maybe in export the package is not quite the same.
I had the same problem as Silly in France.
No problem with D'Addario.
Do you know that it is easier to order Newtones or Pyramids strings, brands of European origin in the US?

Re: Effect of picks on sound.
I have tried all types and sizes of picks over the years but I prefer the smaller Dunlop translucent picks. I get the sound I like and I find also that my right hand is less encumbered with the smaller pick as opposed to the larger bluegrass type of pick. I used a bluechip which was indestructible,...

Re: Quick Gryphon visit
Hello, It is true that B&H are not too well known by you! You should know that in Europe these two luthiers are also too little known and listed as such, just like Bagnasco & Casati Guitars which are very much appreciated. For me it's strange that you are looking for luthiers in Europe, look...

Re: Strings
Since this thread started, back when.... I've changed from D'Ad EJ24s to the new 'nano coated' D'Ad XS 13-56 on my CJmhA. First set lasted 4mos, just put on a new set last week. I tend to slide on the strings a lot and the nano coating makes for a much better result with no letdown in tone. bert He...

The difference is between your fingers on the same model!

Re: 10 year check up?
I have a D2h (1999) and a D1 (2002). I made a pleck to both 4 years ago already but am not convinced of the process on the frets.
For me that belittles the action and makes you lose the attack.
Next time I plan a complete refrettage of the handle.
