Re: Strings
Back in e days of the old Collings forum, whilst Collings use D'addario (I donlt think the "ercommend" them, most collings users seemed to like John Pearse. I did some comparisons of medium gauge PB strings on my Collings dreads and my impression was : JP - warmer D'Addario neutral Martin ...

Re: Collings Joe Henry
Hi, I've just watched the Mark Stutman video and seen/heard Mark Althans playing one. Right now -still no performing, my dreads are hiding from me, and my most loved/used 2003 0002h standard specs. This new version -a Martson or Gibstin - a strange hybrid of both. I have a Collings DS1a with the tra...

Re: 0002H T limited run?
The Mail I got said it was a 24&7/8" scale (on a 000?? and 1 & 3/4" nutwidth Seems a very odd spec for a 12 fret 000.

Re: Collings OM3MhACut (UK)
Hi, I cleaned and polished this beauty yesterday and fitted some D'addario Ej26 (11-52) -too thin for me but my pal Mick uses these on his OM3 and he has taken t to his studio to record a video showing just how good it sounds played by a far better guitarist than I. I did take some more pics though ...

Collings OM3MhACut (UK)
Hi, this lovely and rather special Collings OM3 is for sale in the UK. I'll explain that model name: OM3 - top Collings trim with bound headstock and fretboard. MH = mahogany back and sides, A = Adirondack top and CUT = cutaway! This is a 2006 "custom" build previously owned by a good frie...

Re: 002 v. 0002
Hi, this resp0nse is a little late but this is my observation FWIW. I hav a Collings 0002h, and love it, and I've wanted a 002h for some time, but have found none for sales in the UK or EU and so jumped for another make. I've had a local lithier made 0028 style for over 20 years, so these instrument...

Re: Collings 12 Strings
Hi, I did get to play one, briefly at a specialist shop here in the UK some time ago. It was a pretty high trim level instrument. I love my two 12 strings - a rebuilt and customised '64 D-12-20 (looks like a D12-35) and a similar aged Harmony H1270. The Collings 12 had a superb presentation (as you ...

Dreadnoughts ??? or Jumbos??
Help me, please! Martin coined the term Dreadnought back in the Early part of the 20h century - we all know the story (if not the precise date). We also know that there was the Ditson 111 (not a commercial success)! We know about the ORIGINAL Martin branded Dreadnought from 1931-1933 (not a commerci...
