Re: I don't like snow cones.

I'll play. It's been quiet around here. I can't recall eating snow cones as a kid. I'm sure I've had at least one in my life. I wasn't encouraged/allowed to buy from the ice cream bikes or trucks. There were ice cream treats at the snack bar of the swimming pool we went to. I would get a Drumstick o...

Re: Collings 12 Strings

Thank you both for your responses! I never owned a 12-string through 40+ years of playing, but two summers ago I bought an early 1970s Japanese make. I quickly added 15–20 songs to my repertoire, and many to my trio's repertoire (no Lightfoot). So, the concept is a keeper for me. But the guitar had ...

I second that emotion. I own one (without the shaded top, 4 years older) that is extraordinary.

Re: Collings 12 Strings

Thanks; I appreciate your input. I'm the same size, so that's helpful. Between the options of Collings, Santa Cruz, Martin, and Gibson (to name a few), it's a tricky call. I need to get my hands and ears on some...

Re: Collings 12 Strings

I'm reviving this thread to ask if anyone since last year has had experience with the Collings 12-string. I bought an old Japanese-made 12-string two summers ago, which has added many songs to my and my band's repertoire. (As an aside, one cannot search the forum for topics about 12-string guitars, ...

Re: Collings 01A/Assisted Living Music

I check the forum almost daily, and always select the "Active Topics" quick links. I don't recall any activity on this thread until this week's post. (But because the original post was in March, I won't say my memory is ironclad.) But I'll keep an eye open for this potential issue.

Re: Trade My D1A Varnish For An OM1ATrad?

It's always good to hear from you, FreeBlues! I can address a portion of your question: My OM1A varnish is a great guitar. My D2H is also fine. Both get played about equally. I understand the comfort factor of an OM body. I think going from D to OM will work fine for how you perform. I played an OM1...

Re: Low action! Collings OM1

The action on my D2H is similar: a shade below 3/32 and 2/32. I had shaved the saddle a bit more than I intended, but it's been this low for a decade now and suits me just fine.
