Beautiful guitar, Dale—congratulations!! I'm eager to read and hear your impressions of this guitar, and how it compares to the I-35 LC (I am absolutely smitten by mine ).

Re: Same body, different woods?
I can offer only my experience. For a long while, I've had a rosewood D2H and a mahogany OM1A. I liked the dual difference in wood and size. I recently acquired another maker's OM in Brazilian rosewood, and the tonal similarities to my OM1A are greater than I anticipated. The rosewood does provide m...

Re: OM deep body
I have two OMs, and I really like the sound and size. I don't find anything lacking, and almost prefer them to my dreadnaught. I think you owe it to yourself to try some.
I like the look and figuring of the "blue spruce" and am intrigued by a possible tonal advantage from its age.

Re: Hotel California - My LLB Top Ten #2
Thanks for posting this one, Dale! I hadn't seen this LLB performance—absolutely stellar! A few years back, I was in a cover band that would splice the "Hotel" solo to replace the one at the end of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb." Fun solo to learn! It's also nice to see my other...

Re: NGD I-35LC
Thank you, Frank! Just today, I found your post about your I-35 Deluxe. Quite nice! I'm already in love with this guitar. Honeymoon or no, I think this love will last. It's satisfying to have a great-sounding humbucker guitar. I'm going to release several G&L ASATs and the like, just to downsize...

NGD I-35LC
Hi all, Newly acquired I-35LC, in a merlot finish and Ron Ellis humbuckers (LRP) set. My first Collings electric! I've owed a D2H since '97, and an OM1A varnish since 2008. I've longed for a Collings electric since they began. I tried an I-35 Deluxe 12 or more years ago, but at that time, I didn't r...

Re: Foreplay/Long Time - My LLB Top Ten #6
Synchronicity! I had watched your I-30 and I-35 comparison video earlier, and about an hour ago was thinking I should revisit some of the LLB videos—particularly this one! Still as fantastic now as it first was! Thank you, Dale!
