Re: Options and differences.
While I like great sounding guitars, I don't pre-judge anything based on manufacturer, shape, size or woods. If I'm looking for a Mahogany dread, I don't care if it's a Martin, Collings, SCGC, Custom build.....I want the Mahogany dread tone/sound that I have in my head after more than 40 years of re...

Re: Coffee mugs
Silly, very late response but things move slowly on this site. It's hard to find individual tea cups anywhere.

Re: 14 fret slopes.. What ya got?
I have two at this time. My CJ45 AT which is spectacular in every way. Additionally, I have a Washburn Revival Solo Dreadnaught RSD135-D 135th Anniversary. The Washburn has a very-interesting story behind Washburn's US Custom Shop 135th Anniversary build (to me anyway 😁). It is a surprisingly great ...

Thanks for the explanation. That must have been a severly-stressful build. Sorry to hear it but thanks for the synopsis.

Re: torrified top on the D1A Traditional
This is obviously old and the OP hasn't come back for more. However, since little is going on here, I'll resurrect this one. 😊 I've owned 3 Collings dread guitars at the same (overlapping) time. My steadfast D1 Custom w/baked Sitka, D1 AT and D1 Traditional Baked. My favorite of the lot is/was the D...

Re: Iris Guitars. (DF)
They are decent guitars for the money. The builders, on the other hand, are people that will never see another penny from me. There are too many reputable, hard-working builders out there who value customer service and reputation over profit hunting. If you like dealing with slimy used car salesman...

Re: CJ45T Follow up
Old thread but I just did a search and it popped up. I've owned several Collings and played many more, I also mainly buy boutique, small-shop custom builds - and for me and the two CJ45 Ts I've played (one Sitka/one Adirondack) are the two finest Collings I've played. They are also among the best gu...

Re: Arm dampener
What are you used to? I've been playing guitar for over 40 years professionally and I've never observed any decrease in tone or volume when holding a guitar properly - regardless of brand.
