Re: Any other 12 fret freaks out there?
Little bump of this thread - my first post proper, following my intro that I added today. Have a lovely Eastman E10P: mahogany, sunburst spruce top, ebony board, 12 fret, slothead, 1 13/16" nut, 2 5/16" bridge spacing. A real proper old-style blues box, sounds great, incredible value for ...

Re: Collings Baby, 01, or 02H as a Travel Guitar?
For a long time, my travel guitar was a mandolin, but I just don't play enough mando to be satisfied with that. I took my Martin 000-15S on a trip last weekend, and it did great. It's about 1/3 the price of a Collings, and I love the tone on it, but it's got too much sentimental value to me to serve...

Re: CJ Mh sunburst en route
Congrats! I've never really played a CJ other than perhaps a few minutes at the old Hill Country Guitars location in Wimberley. I hope you'll post a review when it arrives.

Re: Does this "Collings" 0001 look 'legit' to you???
I've never seen one from that early in his career, so I'll defer to you all. If they're real (and I guess I don't have a reason to doubt it), it's very interesting to see them. I can see the "Bill enough" DNA, even if that slothead still is a trip. I sure wish that guy could take a decent ...

Re: Does this "Collings" 0001 look 'legit' to you???
I wouldn't hesitate to call it fake if it was a later Collings, but I don't know much about the earliest period of Bill's career. Even if I did, I've seen clearer pictures of Bigfoot riding sidesaddle on the Loch Ness Monster than the pictures in that listing. Even for an expert (and ignoring that s...

Re: Any other 12 fret freaks out there?
As mentioned above, I'd had my eye out locally for a used DS1 or DS1A for a good long while, but recently spent my guitar savings account on a Martin D-1 Authentic 1931 (eagerly awaiting delivery Wednesday). The guitar gods being the fickle beings that they are, one of my favorite shops, Fiddler's G...

Re: Any other 12 fret freaks out there?
I am currently wrestling with GAS over a Martin D-1 Authentic just listed on the UMGF and the Mandolin Cafe classifieds, and probably elsewhere). I've sort of had a loose plan to eventually add a Collings DS1A to the stable. This would check all the same boxes for a 12-fret mahogany dreadnought, and...

Re: What would WE like to see by Waterloo?
A 12 string modeled on a stella would be pretty neat. I haven't found much in the Waterloo line to really attract my attention, but something along the lines of a depression-era 12-string would be pretty cool. I actually might start keeping an eye out for one of those. Nice picking up there, Andy, a...

Re: Waterloo mandolins
I take it back, I guess they are flat-topped according to Scott at the Mandolin Cafe. He's got a post with their basic specs.

Re: Waterloo mandolins
Hi guys, I guess I can understand the archtop guitars but flat top mandos ? Whilst I wish Collings every success, I can't envisage these being as much of a success as the flat-top guitars have been. I hope I'm wrong. It's hard to tell from the picture, but I'm assuming that the construction is arch...
