I’d prefer mahogany, but hopefully they would offer both.

Re: 00- 12 fret - Collings red-headed stepchild?
I hope they come out with a traditional 00, with the 1 3/4” nut and 2 5/16” saddle spacing the traditional 12-fret 0 has.

00- 12 fret - Collings red-headed stepchild?
Santa Cruz has their Eric Skye 00. Martin has their 00-28VS, and puts out “celebrity” versions now and then. H&D gets a lot of respect for their 00-SP. But I rarely see Collings 00s, except for the all hog 001mh (which is one of the best all hog guitars made IMO). For their Traditional models, t...

Re: Social Media or Here?
I don’t use Facebook or any social media due to privacy concerns. I think a lot of forum participants disappeared when the old forum went down. A similar thing happened at the UMGF when they had problems with their previous hosting site.

Collings Engelmann Tops - what do you think?
I once played an Engelmann/mahogany Collings 001 that I thought sounded great, but it sold before I could take a second look at it. Does anyone have opinions on Collings with Engelmann tops?

Re: C10 v Waterloo LOO size
I have a C10-35 and a WL-14 (x-braced). Both great, but the C10-35 has a somewhat richer sound, and is very loud. (The WL-14 has plenty of volume too, though.) The C10-35 definitely has a more pronounced bass than the WL-14, but still balanced. I used to have a C10 Deluxe G (German over maple, with ...

Re: Is Collings changing after Bill?
I don’t see a problem in their innovation. I do hope they continue to expand the traditional line. Regarding price increases, I’d already noticed SCGC and Bourgeois prices had jumped quite a bit over the past year or so. (I am less likely to buy at these higher prices.) I think the biggest challenge...

Has anyone played a 12-fret 0 Traditional?
I haven’t had a chance to play one of these. Has anyone here? I’d also be curious about how they compare to the non-traditional 12-fret 0s ( I have a 12-fret 02H SB).

Re: Bear claw tops
I’ve never sought out a guitar because it had bear claw (I usually prefer the look of a top without it). That being said, by choosing guitars by how they sound, I’ve ended up with three guitars that have bear claw.

Re: C-100
I got an email from Collings today announcing that the C-100 is available again. I also saw that the Music Emporium has two on the way. Great news!
