Re: WL-12 MH & JP Pure Nickle Wound Lights ++ Good
Hi folks, in November 2016, I went out to buy a Gibson l-oo, and came home with a WL12 which,to me sunded better than a number of Gibsons in the shop. Once home I couldn't get to enjoy it, and in January, they told me I had throat cancer, and the guitar went up on the wall in my study, opposite big ...

The T series - Please explain to me
Hi,
I'm not in the market, but a friend of mine is adamant that he wants a Collings and it has to be a "T" version OM.
I am assuming that the main difference is that they are more lightly built and more lightly finished.
What am I missing?
thanks in advance. ol Andy

Re: Waterloo WL12 NGD
Hi, I bought my wl12 in November 2016. Got it ho w and decided I didn't like it so much. Hung it on the wall in my little office where it listened to the radio whenever I was in there (I spend a lot of time in there). In the following January, they told my I had throat cancer , then after a couple o...

Re: What CAPO?!?
Hi guys. I have ... a number of Collings guitars, and other similar value instruments, because I appreciate good quality. I use Blue chip icks, and change my strings frequently. I've used the basic Shubb capos - C1b ? - and they work just fine. I'm not against spending if something improves my playi...

Re: storage for flatpicks and fingerpicks
When I got my first Blue Chip pick I had to think hard about where to store it carefully.
I saw one of these in an antique shop - I think my wife bought it for me. Since then they have become standard issue in all my guitar cases :

Re: What polish/wax do y’all use?
Hi, many years ago, I went to an antique furniture exhibition (can't imagine why) and discovered that thos with very valuable pieces used a polish called "Regency Gold" and I bought some for our not antique furniture. Later I decuded to try it on one of my guitars - my first Collings I thi...

Re: sitka surprise!
I agree with the last poster in this. Sitka is probably the cheapest tone wood because it ins plentiful and easily found in suitable sizes for guitar tops. I think that whilst I'll not diminish the qualities of red spruce or European spruce in any way - it occurs to me that because they are harder t...

Re: sitka surprise!
Hi, Congrats on your new acquisition. I noted that you wrote "plain old sitka and mahogany" and that describes my most powerful Collings guitar - a DS1. I also have an older DS1asb (adi top) which is superb, but I feel that there ain't nut'n wrong with a good piece of sitka, or mahogany, e...

Re: WL-12 Mahogony - Is action higher on 12 fret?
I had a little 4 hour binge on my 12 fret Waterloo and realized that compared with my other brand, 14 fret guitars, the action seemed to be a bit higher. (I could actually measure it, but that would make things too easy.) Since the tension is less, in general, on a 12-fret guitar would the action b...
