Re: 470JL players-- what amp?
Sorry, but the question, as is, has too many variables to answer. Any good will be fine. However, where do you play.? How far to the venue? Indoor or outdoor? Home for pleasure or professionally? If you ask 20 people, you may have 20 different situations and needs. My answer is generally - find a bu...

Re: CJ35 neck vs 45 neck
what would make the most difference to me is poly vs lacquer neck. i believe that the Ts all have lacquer neck, which bogged me down a bit (not a chemistry thing - just didn't slide as easily.) be interested to hear thoughts. i don't know for a fact, nor do i know if the 45T has a lacquer neck. Wha...

Re: CJ35 neck vs 45 neck
Hey Mark - I own a 45 and used to own a 35. The 45 is thick all the way through, meaning I don’t feel much taper and it is even thick at the lower frets. It is beefier than the 35 and does have more depth. I much prefer it to the 35, but I am a fan of big necks. This. However, unfortunately, no one...

Collings Missed At NAMM
I had reported from NAMM last month on another forum but I'll add this here. I was very disappointed to have Collings missing from NAMM this year. They were there but, not with guitars. While there were several larger manufacturers missing as well (like Taylor), I found it surprising that they opted...

CJ45 AT
Let's add a post to this thread. My CJ45 AT. I had looked for a J45, vintage or contemporary, but couldn't find one close to what I want and expect. I came across a CJ45 T early this year in Tempe and passed on it due to being overpriced. When I got home I found this one, an Adirondack topped - grea...

Re: Options and differences.
While I like great sounding guitars, I don't pre-judge anything based on manufacturer, shape, size or woods. If I'm looking for a Mahogany dread, I don't care if it's a Martin, Collings, SCGC, Custom build.....I want the Mahogany dread tone/sound that I have in my head after more than 40 years of re...

Silly, very late response but things move slowly on this site. It's hard to find individual tea cups anywhere.

Re: 14 fret slopes.. What ya got?
I have two at this time. My CJ45 AT which is spectacular in every way. Additionally, I have a Washburn Revival Solo Dreadnaught RSD135-D 135th Anniversary. The Washburn has a very-interesting story behind Washburn's US Custom Shop 135th Anniversary build (to me anyway 😁). It is a surprisingly great ...
