Re: What’s your earliest Collings?

My 97 D2H (#2967), purchased new from Stan Jay at Mandolin Brothers (RIP x 2). What an experience that was. Mandolin Brothers was an amazing place. Sorry, no photo handy. That is where I bought my first collings in 2000! What a guy Stan was. Losing him (as well as his wonderful store) was heartbrea...

Re: What’s your earliest Collings?

Music store would not give me my money back and after 2 visits back to gibson where they told me they fixed it (and did not) I asked gibson for my money back. they refused! I was so upset about the whole situation. I was fa...

Re: What CAPO?!?

"someone care to explain why I should buy those Eliott/ McKinney capos? I'd really like to understand." Ol Andy Andy, I don't think you should dump your Shubbs. I'd be the last person to try to convince you. (You know the saw "old dogs, new tricks") My personal experience is pre...

storage for flatpicks and fingerpicks

A bit off topic, but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to a purchase for something that holds flatpicks, thumbpicks and fingerpicks that would fit neatly inside a guitar case?

Re: Capo for WLS-Deluxe

the prices are very similar, but in my humble opinion, Elliot Capo's are superior to G7th Heritage Capo's.

Re: Capo for WLS-Deluxe

Elliot Capo's are expensive. But, if you are playing a guitar that costs thousands of Dollars, why not buy the best? Elliot Capo's will custom make your capo depending on the dimensions of your guitar and how far up the neck you want to use your capo. When I purchased my Custom OM2 SS VN and Waterlo...

Re: Collings 01

How long after you got the guitar did the crack appear? Was it there as soon as you took the guitar out. In my opinion, if the crack was not mentioned by the seller, I would return it. Or as suggested, I would ask the seller to pay for the repair!

Good luck
