Re: Collings Introduces New Model - CJ45T
Thanks Dale for posting the link. Interesting, I own two slope shoulder guitars.. a 2008 Collings CJ and a 2001 Santa Cruz VJ. Both mahogany with the CJ having a red spruce (adi) top and the VJ having a sitka top. They are both fully played-in and excellent . As much as I love the idea of the new CJ...

Re: Collings CJ mahogany
remi, if it's in good shape, you've found a jewel. I would say it's a Custom with the 'no' fret markers. My 2008 CJ is a Custom with 'no' fret markers, short scale, red spruce top with very similar mahogany back/sides, headstock inlay, and other custom features. Just an all around great musical inst...

Re: New Collings SJ
Welcome back soups. Congratulations, that's a beauty. Small Jumbos are special guitars. I have a 71'Guild sj and a luthier built custom sj, never could hookup with a Collings, they are not all that plentiful. My current CJ is my favorite Collings I've ever owned, I know you'll feel that way about th...

Re: Tuner Change
The Waverlys on my 2008 CJ got crunchy. I called StewMac and they sent me a new set under the lifetime warranty, turned out great and used the orig bushings, sent StewMac the bad set. If they work well I don't fret too much about appearance. My favorites are #1 Schertler and #2 Schaller GrandTunes. ...

Re: N(U)GD - 2017 Collings D1A Traditional
Congratulations, now you know why Collings... what a great feeling. Collings red spruce tops can be a tad stiff when new but that's by design for the long haul. My CJ Adi didn't mellow out for a few years but came around, the play-in was a joy but later even better. best regards, bert
