Re: No More Collings Cases?
I guess Collings has shown that producing the highest quality traditional style case (not fiber...but fiber costs a lot too) just costs more than the market wants to pay. So we, the market, pay 1/3 or 1/2 the price for something like a TKL, which as you say are fine cases, just not the highest quali...

Re: No More Collings Cases?
There are still Collings cases being sold by some dealers. And I saw a recent Facebook post by Collings that showed a new guitar in one of their cases. So it seems a few of them are being built and escaping the factory. Keep an eye on their web store: https://collings-guitars.myshopify.com/collectio...

Freg,
Yes, I believe you are correct. Look at the various models on the Collings website and the bridge spec tells the string spacing at the saddle.

Re: Guitar Neck Finishes and How Slick They Feel
Frank, I can agree with what you’ve written. But playing mostly cowboy chords, with occasional excursions to the dusty part of the fretboard, I’ve never really had trouble with the neck finish. But I was wondering about the decision to have glossy necks vs. satin neck finishes. Some builders have sa...

Re: Pre-War Guitars Co - looking for opinions
BAR, It’s good to see you back here. You’ve asked a good question. While I hadn’t put much thought into PW guitars, they seem to be all the rage. Yet I see quite a few used ones up for sale. I guess that happens with all brands. Were you playing an old D18? If so, do you still have it and how has th...

Re: Traditional satin finish - durability?
I don’t know the answer, but I’ll pose another question: is it the same satin finished used on the MT and MF mandolins? Just a thinner coat on the Traditional models or maybe a different finish altogether?

Re: Question: string spacing at nut on Traditional models
I just measured my 2019 D1AT with medium D’Add EJ17s at 1.515625, or 1/64 over 1-1/2.
