Re: Waterloo Production Status 2022

Just read a comment on the AGF from dnf7777 that gthe situation is still the same.
Such a great team, but they've lost a lot of good craftsmen, so sad to see the greatest US guitar company struggling.

Re: Collings Nomenclature and Specs

Standard 12 frets are 1 13/16 I meant to say. Yes, the standard nut width for Martin 12 fretters were 1 & 7/8" but Collings made/make them with 1 & 13/16" which are perfect for me. I don't understand why they decided on 1 & 3/4" for the "T" models. In all honest...

Re: Collings 12 Strings

Hi, I have played a Collogs 12 string "o" size.

I have /play a Martin D12-20 so I could compare it tonally and "feel" wise.

The Collings neck and headstock were wonderful, but the size "0" body did not suit me.

That neck on a 12 fret dread body ? I'd buy it!!!

Re: Strings

A week ago, I changed the strings on my three Collings 12 fret dreads. I have a D1 which I regard as my bluegrass guitar but I'm not playing in any bands right now so I tried some Martin Bronze mediums sent to be by mistake. I've always said that I don't care for 80/20s but I've just rechecked them ...

Re: collings truss rod loose in guitar

HiIt happened to me once on my first Collings. All it means is that the truss rod is holding no tension, so loads to apply as and when necessary. IIRC - I took the strings off and replaced it and just screwed it back on , then applied a minimum amount of tension then left it. 21 years later (when I ...

Re: Collings Re-fret/Neck Re-set

Use you local guy. Some players want to change the fret wire and that is fine, others (Including me) prefer to stay with the OEM wire. If so Collings will sell you fret wires that match for your guy to use. I agree and yes, they supplied the fretwire for my refret here in the UK. But ...They ARE ve...

Re: Small-bodied Collings - flatpick

I do believe that small bodied guitars have regained popularity I love my three 12 fret Collings dreads, which have hardly seen daylight in the last two years, and my 0002h has become my faithful sidekick for giving my zoom lessons, and I would love a 002h but I have a Waterloo, and my two really, v...

Re: Elliot Capo

Yesterday, my wife asked me what she could get me for my birthday. Nothing I "needede" but I mentioned these outrageiously expenive capos and she jumped at the idea and I was instructed to order one today. Two issues : 1. Back orders until May ! and the killer: 2. They won't accept orders ...

Re: Strings

Hi, me again. I have not been a "coated" string user don't like the sound, feel or the price and I don't "need" them (very dry hands). I've been pretty faithful to Ej16s and EJ17s for many years - they usually last me 2-3 months - but these last two years haven't been "usual...

Re: Neck Reset

Hi, I would tend to agree with most of the above but wondering - has ANYBODY ever had a neck reset done on a Collings ?

Was it simple/complicated, Expensive?
Thanks in advance.
