Re: OM2HT vs Julian Lage OM1A
Actually, I'd prefer the standard OM2 to the T and then the third would be the Lage. This is based upon my experience that it is the better guitar for singing (for my voice, my material) than the other two: and covers brilliantly pretty much every other base.

Re: Change in Adhesive on T Models
Remy, I've tried a number of pre-2020 Collings dreads. I purchased a 2020 D1AT. They've all sounded terrific. I finally picked up the 2020 T because of the introduction of the 1 11/16 nut and the new neck. My 2020 is, I think, the best I've played: maybe because it works better for me at the reduced...

Re: Humidifiers?
Been using Humidipaks for the last few years (4?) and they've been terrific. Although we have humidity swings here and sometimes extended dry periods, we don't have months and months of dry weather with which to cope. If you use the humidipaks (or any in-case humidifier), I recommend an inexpensive ...

Re: D1 with terrified top
We each have different perceptions of the guitars based on our experiences. And that is almost certainly true with different styles of play and different kinds of material. I am also a fairly long time Collings player with experience both auditioning, and owning multiple Collings. I have five right ...

Re: D1 with terrified top
I don’t know about cracking but I definitely do not like the sound of the Collings baked tops. I’d go with non-backed red spruce or Sitka. They sound way too dry (bordering on brittle sounding) to my ears. Dave's experience is not mine at all. I have one unbaked Collings, a D1AT, and it is certainl...

Re: Change in Adhesive on T Models
They didn’t. I didn’t ask if buyers can still custom order with protein glue, but I’m guessing it might be possible. Paul, I'm guessing this won't be a custom option. Collings clearly gains by getting rid of the extra time and space required for the protein glue. And at the moment with custom order...

CJ45AT Artisan Demo with EJ17s
Just passing along this demo from Jesse at Artisan of the new CJ45T with an adirondack top. The previous demos from Bob Minner--including one at Artisan--were with Nickel Bronze strings. This is with D'Addario Phosphor Bronze EJ17s. As Jesse confirms, he isn't Bob Minner, but the guitar is neverthel...

Re: No More Collings Cases?
There is no connection between discontinuing the case production and the pandemic. This was a decision made well before the pandemic. Not one they were happy to make, since this was a project that meant a lot to Bill; but after a couple of tries of seeing how to make it work financially and just not...

Re: Tell me about your Collings OM1 or 001 14 fret
I have both the standard OM1A and an OM2G. They are both splendid guitars that have moved sort of from great to greater over the years. They were two different experiences initially. The OM2G was a friendly player with a sophisticated voice from the first day. The OM1A was a little stiff and a littl...
