Thanks, elambo. I have a set of GHS Vintage Bronze PB's ready to go next. I'll find a set of JP New Mediums to try after that.

How are the retros working out? I use 12-54 strings on acoustics. Currently I have Martin MA540 on my CJ35G and it's the best it's sounded. Next time I change strings I'm trying MM12 retros because I have Martin MM12 (retros) on my Kopp K35 and they really sound fantastic.

I like the Monel Retros (12-54) better than the J17's on the CJ35G. I also have Monel Retros (13-56) on my D1T. I actually just traded the CJ35G for a DS1, and the 12 fretter came to me with Retro 12-54.

I have a CJ35GSB. For sometime I've had any variety of light gauge strings on it and did not like the sound. Didn't play it much for a couple years. Two weeks ago I decided to try a set of Straight Up Strings which are compensated to reduce torque on the bridge. I tried the Heavy set which is actually only 7 lbs of tension more than light gauge. The change and response in sound and playability was amazing. Needless to say, the guitar is wonderful.
