Sounds like a great guitar!

Hope you post some photos as many of us would enjoy seeing your new baby!!!

I have never played one, although I have owned five Collings guitars, still have three of them going back to 1993. My opinion is that the tops look gimmicky. I wouldn't want one. Rather wait and watch a top break in over the years

Have been curious for a while about the baked maple back and sides. If you've had a chance to play a non-torrified Collings maple can you give a sense of sound differences? Or at least just the sound of your guitar--as difficult as that is to communicate?

Congratulations.

Thanks!

I haven’t had a chance to play a non-torrefied maple C10 yet and I’m terrible at describing tone, but here’s a video I just did using the baked C10. Can’t put it down!

When I owned my Collings guitars, torrefied tops were not being offered. I do own a Martin authentic which features it and it’s a tone monster!

My Martin is an 000-30 1919 Authentic with a torrified Adirondack top. Mine sounds great to my ears. Of course, reasonable minds can differ as to what sounds good or what is lacking. And I can only speak to my individual instrument, not the entire line. But I am very happy with this instrument.

Happy picking!

I think I tried one of those torrified Authentics a while back. Definitely had some amazing tone!

I have a '39 D18 Martin Authentic with the VTS top that I purchased several years after I regrettably had to sell my real deal '39 D18. Does it sound like my old D18? No, but it has a fabulous sound and old soul vibe that I really enjoy and holds its own with the Collings D1AT that I have.
