I just took delivery of this sweet D1 SB T Satin earlier this week. It was love at first strum!
I wanted one as soon as I saw the Julian Lage/Chris Etheridge video with Chris playing a satin D1.

A quite nice beauty to be locked up getting to know!
I promised you a comparison of this one and my D1A T. This one is even warmer and dryer sounding that the D1A T. I'm attributing that to the torrified Sitka and the Satin finish. Seem's even more open sounding right out of the box. I imagine it will continue leaning that way. This new one also has a bass resonance that I've not heard in a Collings....until now. VERY nice!!

It's nice that you ended up with a great new guitar, Mark. Does this mean the D1AT is going to be filing for unemployment soon?

Well.... That was the plan when I ordered this one, but they are more different than I thought they would be. Both great. So the D1A T stays, for now......along with the D2HA T Madagascar ( The Cadillac :D ). I really don't need 3 dreads.....but I can't convince myself to part with any.

You also have D2HA T Madagascar?! Yer killin' me, Mark. If I ever retire, and between the market and COVID 19 the odds are diminishing, a D2HA T will be my final guitar purchase.
