Collings Julian Lage OMA vs OM1A T Satin

I know these guitars can have different nut and bridge string spacing but with Collings now doing more of the satin finish on their Traditionals guitars shouldn't the tone sound similar?

I'd say similar yes, but as I've been told the overall voicing and necks are different which contributes to the slight tonal variance.

I asked Mark at Collings once if JL was exactly the same as the Traditional and was told no. This was in response to asking if the Traditional upgrades that occurred in 2020 were also applied to the Julian. They were not.

Thank you! Several of the staff from Mass Street Music, including the owner Jim Baggett confirmed this was an especially exceptional one. My ears heard the same thing so I didn't want to think about getting it too long.

Thank you! By chance were you the person that had called them and wanted to get if I didn't get it?

Yes. In fact, the day before you put it on hold, I had the guitar in my online shopping cart, but got cold feet because I am also looking at some other guitar purchases. Next morning I saw that it was on-hold.

I had a feeling it might be you (grin). I was originally thinking I would put my name on the list for a PreWar Guitars Co. OM18. I wasn't looking to get a JL but when I was at MSM last week, I saw this new guitar case and they said it had just come in. I asked if I could play it and that's all it took. Just curious... what other guitars are you looking at?
