I have a handmade small archtop that looks just about on spec with the CL Jazz thinline... 2" depth though.
If anyone has been down this road...
Does Calton, Hoffee or anyone in this quality range, offer a shell for a 15" archtop?
I fear if I ordered something they would heavily pad a much larger case because of the big upper horn.
Id hate to lug around the extra bulk of the bigger case

I recently ordered a Calton for my newly acquired CL-Jazz. I haven't received it yet, though. I'm sure it will be just about perfect.

The nice thing about Calton & Collings is they are in the same city (I'm sure your aware) and Calton has the specs to make cases on all Collings models - order and enjoy.

To the gentleman who ordered a Calton for the CL....
How much padding is around the guitar?
Did they use a special mold for a 15" or is the outer shell made for a 16" with extra padding inside?

I spoke with Calton Cases about your query...they have a template for Collings CL Series, starting price is $1215. The following is a direct quote, "As long as their CL Jazz has the same dimensions of the normal CL model, the above info will apply. If not, we would need measurements to know which shell for sure, but the starting price would stay the same."

The phrase, 'the above info will apply' is referring to the info I shared above before the quote.

I've owned a CL Jazz, my feeling is that you will need to send exact measurements to CC. The CL Jazz comes, or at least used to, with two headstock options. My best advice would be to contact CC, they will walk you through getting the measurements to them and you can rest assured your case will be a perfect fit for your guitar, not too big, or allowing the tolerances to be to tight for the guitar.

I`m not budgeted to make the call right now ...plus there are no trips in sight until we get thru the pandemic.

Actually ...I`m a Collings LOVER but this case would be for another 15" archtop. I searched around for something with roughly the same dimensions to zone in on a case.
It`s a Koll Ultraglide ...same situation as the CL with the big upper horn.

I guess my question is this
Will the OUTER dimension of the 15" CL case be the same as one for a 16"?
