Hi! New to the forum here.
I have recently purchased a new Waterloo WL14. I had played one a while ago and really loved it but only recently had the chance to buy one.
One thing I've noticed is the neck is very very thick. Granted I bought the thick neck version, but my shubb capo needs no screw tightening at all to fit the first fret! Not to mention I can barely capo the neck at 6 or 7th fret due to the neck thickness, using my "regular""normal" shubb acoustic guitar capo. I did not expect the depth of the neck to be such a problem that a capo won't fit.
The other thing I've noticed is that the fingerboard edge is sharp and square, not rolled or chamferred as I remembered on other Collings and Waterloos that I've played. Is this a change in design?
A newbie but would really appreciate your help and advice. Many thanks!
Neck edge and thickness
Re: Neck edge and thickness
Congrats on your new Waterloo. Sorry the neck thickness is an issue. Is to too late to return it?
As far as questions or changes, my suggestion would be a quick note to Collings.
