Is there a term to describe the Waterloo finish? It’s not really a satin finish.

On the Waterloo website they call it a “semi-gloss” finish.

I call mine gorgeous! I'd probably go with satin/matte

Got me a WL-12 bought in November 2016.

Changed out a set of three month old EJ16s strings earlier this week and, I always clean my guitars whilst unstrung (damp cloth all over , wipe dry then polish with a polish made for antique furniture called "Regency gold" and wipe off immediately.

See [url]https://youtu.be/ucadcS4_FKc/url]

It doesn't contain anything nasty, but slowly over eight or none string changes my Waterloo is getting shinier.

Lowdens used to have a similar satin finish, after 25 years playing & polishing mine has turned gloss pretty much all over,
Would love to see a Waterloo in a few years time.

I love that look too. Like an old leathery Gibson The Waterloos don't take long at all to shine up.

I would call the original finish matte and not glossy. Can't see my face and the finish is not glassy smooth.
