Traditional Series Neck Size Change
Traditional Series Neck Size Change
I've heard the traditional series guitars had larger necks when they were introduced. Then a switch was made to .815" at the first fret neck depth. Is this true? If so, when was the change made?

Bill, I recall hearing that the early ones 2016 had bigger necks

Not sure when the switch happened but I had a few which had very large necks. I am selling a 2017 which has a slimmer neck.

I have an OM2H T with the smaller neck. I was thinking of looking for one with the larger neck. Sounds like they didn't make them for long, but they do exist. Now that I know I'm not searching for unobtanium, I'll keep my eyes open for a 2016.

Re: Traditional Series Neck Size Change
If my memory is correct, the first T’s came to market around May 2016. I bought 2613X in August 2016 and it has the large neck. I later bought 2662X used...I think maybe it was from November 2016...and it has the smaller neck. So I think the change occurred in Fall 2016.

I recently brought this up with Mark Althans who stated the change happened in the spring of 2017.

Can anyone describe the differences between the older and newer necks? Thanks!

"Originals were quite chunky. We trimmed the profile down quite a bit." This is what Mark wrote to me.
