Congrats Dale. Seems like it’s been a while since you got a new Collings. How does it compare to your faithful 01A (?) ?
Re: NGD - Collings 02HT
hello Eric..thanks for your post and hope all is well your way.
The 0 size seems to be the guitar I pick up the most and this T-series has enough difference to be really appealing. I haven't put a lot of hours into it yet but it's a much lighter, in weight, guitar. The neck is a bit larger but not uncomfortable, the string spacing may take just a bit of getting used to but not a big deal. I love/hate cut through saddles, love the ascetic, hate the hassle of modifying action with them. That said the guitar plays perfect - if I do anything it will be to bring the action down ever so little, but I'll wait a good while before I make a decision.
The guitar is more responsive to being played than my 01A, louder, brighter, feels more resonate all over the instrument. I LOVE my 01A and it shows it...it's darker in tone and more mid oriented. This guitar is about as different as a guitar of the same size could be maybe. I like having a rosewood example of the 0 size and like Mr. Collings would say, Sitka is a great top wood.
Thanks for your wonderful memory and even asking about this guitar. Thanks even more so for your friendship and kindness over the years, dale.

that is cute!
I really love the look of the 0 and the new 00-14 T models - would love to get hold of an 01 or 00-14 1T at some point...
